Big Screen Family Film and Easter Trail

Free City Centre Big Screen Family Film and Easter Trail

Families are in for a sweet treat this Easter as Peterborough Positive team up once again with St John’s Church and Gateway Film Festival to host a free big-screen family film event on Wednesday, 1st April.

The day will kick off with a fun-filled crafts session from 10:00am until 12:00pm, including complimentary face painting, followed by a big-screen showing of the family favourite, Zootropolis (PG) at 12pm.

Pep Cipriano, Chief Operating Officer at Peterborough Positive, said:

“After the fantastic response to last year’s event, we’re delighted to be bringing it back again this Easter. It’s a great opportunity for families to come together in the beautiful setting of St John’s Church and enjoy a day of film, creativity and Easter fun.”

Reverend Michelle Dalliston, Vicar of St John the Baptist and St Luke, Peterborough, added:

“We’re thrilled to be partnering again with Peterborough Positive and Gateway Film Festival to host this special Easter event. St John’s Church has always been a welcoming place for the community, and events like this are a wonderful way to bring families into the heart of the city, enjoy quality time together, and celebrate the joy of Easter.”

Alongside the film event, Peterborough Positive has collaborated with Peterborough City Council to create a city centre Easter Egg Trail, running from 27th March, with seven locations across the city for families to explore. Those who complete the trail will be entered into a prize draw for the chance to win a £100 gift card to a city centre shop or restaurant of their choice.

In addition, a seasonal Easter-themed installation will be on display in Cathedral Square over the Easter period, bringing a splash of colour to the heart of the city and offering a fun photo opportunity for visitors.

Councillor Zameer Ali, Peterborough City Council’s Cabinet Member for Communities, Poverty and Public Health, said:

“We are fully committed to working with partners including Peterborough Positive to ensure that our city centre is a vibrant, welcoming place for shoppers, residents and visitors alike. “That is why we are delighted to support this exciting event, which I’m sure will prove popular and provide families with a fun-filled experience.”

The craft and face painting activities are free to attend, however, the film screening is first come, first served as space is limited.
