Free Big Screen Film in Cathedral Square
Families are in for a brick-tastic treat as Peterborough Positive presents a free big-screen showing of The LEGO® Movie in Cathedral Square on Sunday 2 August from 3pm, to coincide with Peterborough Cathedral’s summer exhibition, Travelling Bricks.
For the third year running, Cathedral Square will be transformed into an outdoor cinema for a free screening of the 2014 animated family favourite, which follows LEGO minifigure Emmet as he embarks on an action-packed quest to save his world. Families can also enjoy free face painting and goody bags for the first 100 children.
Pep Cipriano, Chief Operating Officer at Peterborough Positive, said:
"We're delighted to bring our free family film event back for a third year. There's something really special about seeing Cathedral Square come alive with families; it's one of my favourite events of the year and a wonderful reminder of the important role our city centre plays in bringing people together. “As well as bringing families together, events like this help drive footfall into the city centre, giving people the opportunity to discover and support local businesses. “Our free family film is just one of the many experiences that make Peterborough city centre a great destination for families this summer. Whether it's exploring Peterborough Cathedral's Travelling Bricks exhibition, enjoying a day at the Lido or visiting Peterborough Museum & Art Gallery, there's plenty to see, do and discover."
The screening is free to attend, with seating available on a first-come, first-served basis. Visitors are encouraged to arrive early or bring their own chairs.
