Free Valentine’s Movie Night

Celebrate Valentine’s in Style With A Free Big Screen Film Evening

Love is in the air in the city centre this Valentine’s Weekend as Peterborough Positive teams up with St John’s Church in Cathedral Square to host a big-screen film, screening Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy, on Friday 13th February, from 6:30pm to 9:30pm.

Whether you’re sharing the evening with a mate, a date, family, or friends, this unique experience promises a memorable evening filled with love and laughter. The event will be held against the stunning backdrop of the city centre’s Grade I-listed church, which dates to the 15th century.

Pep Cipriano, Chief Operating Officer at Peterborough Positive, said:

“Following the fantastic response to last year’s event, we’re really pleased to be bringing this Valentine’s film night back to the heart of the city centre. St John’s Church offers a truly unique backdrop, and working once again with Reverend Michelle and her team allows us to transform this historic space into a memorable big-screen experience for everyone to enjoy.”

Reverend Michelle Dalliston, Vicar of St John the Baptist and St Luke, Peterborough, said:

“We’re delighted to be welcoming people back to St John’s Church for another Valentine’s celebration. The church is here to serve the whole city, a place of warmth, connection and community. It’s a joy to continue our partnership with Peterborough Positive on an event that brings people together in such a positive way.”

The event will also feature a complimentary drink on arrival to add a touch of sparkle, along with live music from local performer Maria Marr to set the mood. Snacks and drinks will also be available to purchase throughout the evening.

In addition, Peterborough Positive have teamed up with Peterborough City Council to extend the love by installing two Valentine themed photo opportunities in the city centre. The installations will be placed on St John’s Square and Cathedral Square, from 2nd to 16th February.

Councillor Zameer Ali, cabinet member for communities, poverty and public health for Peterborough City Council, said:

“It’s always a pleasure to bring people together to celebrate a positive event such as Valentine’s Weekend.”“Working in partnership with Peterborough Positive allows us to bring a fantastic range of events to the city centre. I’m particularly pleased we can host these experiences at brilliant venues such as St John’s Church and I look forward to seeing people enjoying themselves.”
