‘Paws & Discover’ Peterborough City Centre
Dog lovers across Peterborough are invited to the Cathedral Lawn on 14th March, from 10am, for Paws & Discover, a dog-friendly event hosted by Peterborough Positive, celebrating the city’s four-legged visitors and the launch of a brand-new dog-friendly directory Dog Friendly Directory.
Set against the backdrop of Peterborough Cathedral, the event invites owners and their pups into the heart of the city centre to explore the growing number of dog-friendly businesses and welcoming green spaces. The day will include free basic medical check-ups from Woodgreen Pets Charity, alongside an informative talk from a professional dog behaviourist.
Visitors can also join a guided dog walk taking in some of the city centre’s green spaces, as well as a dedicated trail leading participants to dog-friendly businesses along the route. Participating venues will be offering treats for visiting pups and special offers for owners, creating an enjoyable way to discover and support dog-friendly businesses across the city.

From Queensgate to the grounds of Peterborough Cathedral and Rivergate, there are more places than ever where dogs are welcome. “We want to create a fun and engaging day where people can discover dog-friendly businesses, explore the city centre, and support the fantastic work of charities such as Woodgreen and the Assistance Dogs Council, who are joining us on the day.”

Peterborough Positive’s new directory highlights shops and venues that welcome dogs, giving owners the freedom to explore the city centre without leaving their four-legged companions at home.
Participating businesses will display a dog-friendly vinyl in their windows, making it easy for visitors to spot places where their four-legged friends are welcome.
