People looking to gain skills for work, career progression or wanting to learn or develop a hobby or interest can take their pick from a packed course guide launched by City College Peterborough. The 2021-22 guide offers more than 135 courses provided by the college, which has been shortlisted five times for the Times Education Awards and has previously been Apprenticeship Provider of the Year.

The city’s Brook Street campus has been offering learning and training to people aged over 16 for more than 75 years and generations have enjoyed and benefited from studying with the college. Students consistently achieve above national average success rates and 98% would recommend City College Peterborough to others.

Janet Bristow, Deputy Principal and Head of Service said:

“It’s an honour for the college to continue to provide high-quality programmes to the residents, communities and businesses of Peterborough. We pride ourselves on the important role we play within the Peterborough community and continuously strive to help those wanting to improve their education and skills. We’re incredibly proud of our staff and tutors and their dedication to ensuring that everyone studying with us enjoys consistently high standards and levels of service, keeping them coming back for more.

In addition to the wide range of qualification courses designed to meet the needs of local employers, counselling, teaching, adult care and childcare, the college also offers a variety of leisure courses. These courses benefit people’s wellbeing by learning or improving an existing skill such as art, upholstery, cookery, languages, literature, gardening and photography.”

Throughout the pandemic the college developed their programmes to be delivered online, which ensured students continued to have the opportunity to learn. For the 2021-22 term, many of the practical and leisure courses will return to the classroom in a Covid-safe learning environment, whilst others will be delivered online or as a blend of classroom and online learning.
