Peterborough Positive has been part of an initiative to develop Covid-19 safe pods and outdoor seating areas for the city centre. The pods will be opened in Cathedral Square, St John’s Square, Bridge Street and Westgate throughout April and May 2021.
Plans for the café culture approach have been developed over the last year and will be going ahead thanks to a successful £800,000 grant application to Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority.
The pods and seating areas will deliver a European café culture, giving customers an ambient and comfortable area to sit, eat and dine in all weathers – day and night.
Free public access WiFi will be launched across the city centre by CambWiFi at the same time.
