The organisation behind the Peterborough BID (Business Improvement District) met with the MP for Peterborough last week to present their proposal for adopting a BID in the city centre. Adopting a Peterborough BID will lead to positive change across the city centre. The BID will aim to support those businesses impacted by covid-19.
Paul Bristow MP has since sent a letter of support for businesses in Peterborough to Chancellor Rishi Sunak. His letter backs the BID and highlights two key strands of support for local businesses:
- A rates relief extension for businesses to help combat the issues caused by the covid-19 pandemic
- More generous terms for the payment of VAT to HMRC.
Backing from key stakeholders is crucial in bringing the BID proposal forward and Peterborough Positive is grateful for the backing of the local MP.
